Post-strike message for KP NCAL employees and physicians
The following message was sent to all employees and physicians in the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Region on behalf of Janet Liang, President, Northern California Region, Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and Health Plan; and Richard Isaacs, MD, FACS, CEO and Executive Director, The Permanente Medical Group:
We would like to acknowledge the incredible effort of all physicians and employees who came to work to provide safe and excellent patient care during last week’s five-day strike. Each of our patients received the highest quality of care and personalized service from thousands of dedicated professionals. We know that many of you went above and beyond to make that happen. We especially want to express appreciation for the hundreds of therapists and thousands of nurses who made the choice to put their patients first and come to work.
With this unfortunate work stoppage behind us, we welcome back those mental health therapists, nurses, and engineers who were absent during the strike. We know you will rejoin your colleagues and provide high quality care and service moving forward.
At this time, we ask that everyone continue to focus on the reason we work at Kaiser Permanente — our shared mission to provide high quality, affordable health care and to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. By focusing on our common purpose, and by treating each other with respect, we will continue to maintain a safe and caring environment for our members, patients, and for each other.
High quality and personalized care requires commitment, dedication, and perseverance. This has positioned Northern California as the leader and model. Each and every individual at Kaiser Permanente plays an essential role in what we do, and who we are. We look forward to having all of our people working together, delivering on the promise of Kaiser Permanente and total health.
