KP-NUHW Bargaining Update, June 29, 2022
At our Wednesday, June 29, bargaining session, we confirmed tentative agreement on the length of the next contract — Article 37, Duration of Agreement — which would run from Oct. 1, 2021, through Sept. 30, 2024.
We shared with NUHW our sincere interest in concluding bargaining soon. Since bargaining began, both sides have worked hard, giving many proposals and reaching agreement on important operational topics, active medical benefits, and various contract language changes.
Also at the table on Wednesday, we presented a 3-part concept to support workload and indirect patient care (IPC) needs of clinicians. Our approach would not only address the needs expressed by therapists, it also would balance appropriate IPC with our legal obligations for new and return patient access. We appreciated the union bargaining team’s response at the table, and their interest in hearing more. Meanwhile, we await the union’s response on a number of previously discussed proposals.
As always, we thank you for your continued dedication to our patients. Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Wednesday, July 6. We will continue to keep you informed.
