KP-NUHW Bargaining Update, April 21, 2022

Yesterday in bargaining between Kaiser Permanente and NUHW, indirect patient care continued as the main topic. The tone at the table was respectful, which we greatly appreciate as it allowed negotiations to be productive and informative.

We understand how important indirect patient care time and practice support are for you. These are complex subjects, with definitions of various aspects differing between the union’s proposal and terms that have been used historically at KP. As our team sought to find mutual understanding with union leadership, we returned to NUHW’s February proposal on job duties and workload distribution for a deeper exploration. We asked many questions, delved deeply into the details of the proposal, and we look forward to more dialogue as we look for solutions that will benefit our patients, support our valued therapists, and help KP continue to be a best place to give and receive care.

Our next meetings are scheduled for May 17 and May 27. We have offered April 29, and provided NUHW with many options for additional bargaining dates. We await their response, and we will continue to keep you informed.
