KP-NUHW Bargaining Update, July 13, 2022

Today in bargaining, Kaiser Permanente suggested each party pull the mutually agreed on items from their respective package proposals and formally sign them as tentative agreements. This will help each of us focus on the approximately 11 open topics at hand. The union agreed — accordingly, we transferred six items for signature from our comprehensive proposal and gave the union our amended package proposal.

We expected to discuss NUHW’s response to our comprehensive package proposal, representing notable movement and presented on July 8. While the union was not ready to respond today, we reinforced our commitment to getting to a mutually agreeable tentative agreement soon, and remain optimistic that our shared bargaining efforts will result in the right outcome for everyone.

Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Friday, July 22 — we expect the union will be ready to discuss our package proposal, which is intended to resolve outstanding economic and non-economic issues and move negotiations to a tentative agreement.

Thank you for your continued focus on delivering excellent patient care. We will continue to keep you informed.
