KP-CNA Bargaining Update #21

Today, Kaiser Permanente and the California Nurses Association (CNA) met for the 21st day of contract negotiations.

What happened

Kaiser Permanente and CNA engaged in conversations focusing on the union’s Home Health and Hospice and Appointment and Advice Call Center proposals. KP restated its counter proposal to increase the number of committee days for the regional Home Health and Hospice Professional Performance Committee (PPC) and Nurse Quality Forum (NQF).

CNA responded to two Kaiser Permanente counter proposals, bringing us closer to agreement about 1) nurse participation in the safety sub-committee and 2) electronic documentation for nurses who voluntarily waive premium pay.

For the record

We are looking forward to continuing to work with CNA to resolve open operational proposals.

What comes next

Bargaining is scheduled to continue Friday, Sept. 29. We will continue to keep you informed.
