KP-CNA Bargaining Update, June 30, 2022
Today was another productive session. Kaiser Permanente and CNA bargaining teams exchanged proposals and discussed areas of common interest, including staffing, training, and the health and safety of our nurses. CNA presented a proposal involving protocols and programs for infectious disease safety, which we are reviewing.
KP presented a proposal that is intended to develop and advance registered nurses’ careers and have a positive impact on staffing. Our proposal included increasing access to specialty training and creating more flexibility for registered nurses to pursue different positions and areas of interest within the organization. The proposal also included enhancements to our very successful new grad/nurse residency program that has already resulted in bringing more than 350+ new nurses into the KP Northern California workforce, growing to 500 by the end of 2022.
Our next bargaining session is Wednesday, July 6. We will continue to keep you informed.
