KP-CNA Bargaining Update, July 14, 2022

Today both Kaiser Permanente and CNA exchanged proposals.

KP presented four proposals, three of which remove outdated provisions or obligations already fulfilled in the contract, and one that will improve the experience of Appointment and Advice Call Center nurses (AACC) and benefit our members and patients.

Where once our three call centers functioned independent of each other, with separate expectations and processes, they now function as one organization. By moving to a monthly regional meeting for a Call Center PPC/NQF committee, instead of local meetings, we will be able to identify, test, and adopt new practices and processes more quickly; solve problems together; provide more access to subject matter experts; and create a more seamless experience for AACC staff and our patients across the region.

CNA put forward two counterproposals to KP’s previous proposals around job postings and specialty training positions, and a new proposal focused on sub-contracting. We are reviewing these proposals.

Our next bargaining session is scheduled for Tuesday, July 19.  We will continue to keep you informed.
