KP-CNA Bargaining Update, July 12, 2022

Bargaining continued today with an exchange of proposals by Kaiser Permanente and CNA. KP proposed a new provision related to remote work be added to the contract, confirming our support of this opportunity for nurses and nurse practitioners in select positions.

Not only does the proposal respond to what nurses tell us they strongly desire, we believe it will help recruit and retain KP nurses and help address nurses’ needs for work/life balance. Nurses in the following areas would be eligible for (but not limited to) remote work, based on operational need and feasibility: home health; call centers; chronic condition management, program management, and population management programs; and the continuing care advice program.

CNA presented a proposal around Hospice care delivery, which we are reviewing.

Bargaining is next scheduled for Thursday, July 14. We will continue to keep you informed.
