KP-CNA Bargaining Update, Aug. 9 and 11, 2022
Bargaining with California Nurses Association on Tuesday, August 9, and Thursday, Aug. 11, was constructive and professional. Yesterday we presented 15 counter-proposals to union operational proposals, and had a productive dialogue on these important topics. At the Aug. 9 bargaining session, Kaiser Permanente’s bargaining team received a package proposal from the union covering wages, benefits, and other economic topics, and we asked several related questions. At yesterday’s session we discussed with the union our assessment of market-based conditions that are important for us to consider as we transition to negotiating over economic matters. We continue to review the union’s package proposal as we prepare to respond.
Our next bargaining session is Tuesday, Aug. 16. We are encouraged by continued active bargaining and want to recognize the engagement of union leaders and diligence as we maintain forward movement. We want to reiterate our gratitude for all you do to care for patients with great compassion and expertise. We will continue to keep you informed.
