KP-CNA Bargaining Update #33

Today, Kaiser Permanente and the California Nurses Association (CNA) met for the 33rd day of contract negotiations.

What Happened

We’re pleased to announce that Kaiser Permanente and CNA reached a verbal tentative agreement on in-service education, which we anticipate will be signed shortly. The agreement provides more comprehensive processes for registered nurses and nurse practitioners to give their input on priorities and topics of annual in-service education programs.

The union presented a counter proposal on registered nurses’ participation in workplace safety committees and projects, which will be discussed further at the next bargaining session.

For the Record

There was positive momentum in bargaining today. Both parties worked diligently to arrive at the tentative agreement on in-service education.

What Happens Next

Bargaining is scheduled to resume on Thursday, Nov. 30. We will continue to keep you informed.
