KP-CNA Bargaining Update #19

Today, Kaiser Permanente and the California Nurses Association (CNA) met for the 19th day of contract negotiations.

What happened

Kaiser Permanente presented a counter proposal to the union’s Home Health/Hospice Professional Performance Committee proposal, and withdrew KP’s Professional Attire proposal.

The parties engaged in forthright, productive dialogue about Home Health and Hospice proposals, KP’s domestic violence resources, safety committees, Nurse Practitioner-related proposals, and electronic bidding.

For the record

While no agreements were reached today, we were encouraged by the open sharing of perspectives on a variety of topics.

Our counter proposal is intended to strengthen the Home Health and Hospice Professional Practice Committee and Nurse Quality Forum meetings, and provide a Regional setting for discussion of common issues several times annually.

What comes next

Bargaining is scheduled to resume tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 27. We will continue to keep you informed.
