KP-CNA Bargaining Update #10
Today, Kaiser Permanente and the California Nurses Association (CNA) met for the tenth day of contract negotiations.
What happened
- Kaiser Permanente presented a proposal to copy a portion of Appendix M, which addresses fringe benefits for short-hour, temporary, and per diem nurses, into the body of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) to make this information easier to find.
- The union presented two proposals. The first was a proposal on medical benefits that retirees receive. The other proposal involved Nurse Practitioner job postings.
- The parties engaged in conversation about how best to evaluate, implement, and train our nurses on new technologies for use in clinical care.
For the record
We value our nurses’ input in evaluating and implementing new technologies that enhance patient care. We regularly invite the union to participate in this process, and remain open to ways we can work together to facilitate smooth transitions to new clinical care technologies.
What comes next
Bargaining is scheduled to continue Tuesday, Aug. 22. We will continue to keep you informed.
